The Pesticide Stewardship Alliance (TPSA) Presents Stewardship Awards

St. Louis, MO— The Pesticide Stewardship Alliance (TPSA) recently presented four
stewardship awards at the 9th Annual Stewardship Conference held February 24 in
Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The “Leadership in Product Stewardship – Private” was presented to Martin Fitzpatrick of BASF and the Chair of CropLife America Stewardship Committee. Fitzpatrick was recognized for his national leadership in improving pesticide stewardship throughout agriculture and his dedication to the continued growth and development of TPSA.

The “Program Excellence” award was presented to the Food and Environmental Quality Lab, Washington State University, Vince Hebert, Director. The award was presented in recognition of extension-based research and staff committed to scientific excellence, visionary leadership, and public communication in support of sustainable pesticide< stewardship throughout the state and nation.

The “2009 President’s Award” was presented to the Ag Container Recycling Council for its long-standing and successful model of private sector leadership and collaboration to collect and recycle more than 100 million pounds of pesticide container plastic since 1992, its continuing efforts to improve on-the-ground stewardship in America and its longstanding support of TPSA.

Finally, the “Outstanding Member Contribution” award was presented to Carol Ramsay, Washington State University. Ramsay was recognized for her boundless stewardship spirit and enthusiastic and dedicated contributions to TPSA’s goals and growth.
