Agricultural Film Plastic Recycling Webinar

The University of Wisconsin Extension Solid & Hazardous Waste Education Center is presenting a webinar regarding efforts to recycle agricultural film plastic in Wisconsin. The purpose of the webinar is to update the Wisconsin dairy and livestock industry with current information on equipment and collection model options and end market opportunities for agricultural film recycling in Wisconsin. The information will be relevant in other states with similar agricultural conditions.
The intended target audiences are dairy and livestock agents, land conservation department staff, farm organizations, nursery and landscape association members, agricultural cooperatives, county solid waste department and recycling staff, and film manufacturers and distributors. The topics to be discussed include:
- Markets update and past barriers to recycling agricultural films
- Two case studies of film collection models that have worked
- A report on a baler demonstration project in Wisconsin
- Building local networks in Wisconsin: What’s involved and how to get it done.
