The Pesticide Stewardship Alliance Elects 2021 Leaders

St. Louis, MO – The Pesticide Stewardship Alliance (TPSA) recently elected the board of directors for 2021, including the officers and four members to serve on the board.

Elected to serve as officers of TPSA for the 2021 year were: President Kimberly Gilbert, Corteva Agriscience; Vice President Angie Martin, Heritage Environmental Services; Secretary Jennifer Thomasen, Bayer Crop Science; Treasurer Wendy Sue Wheeler, Washington State University.   Taryn VanWassenhove, New Mexico Department of Agriculture, will serve as the Immediate Past President.

Elected to the board of directors were Becky Roark, Helena Agri-Enterprises, LLC, as the end user representative; Renee Woody, North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, as the government representative; Michelle Wiesbrook, University of Illinois, as the institution representative;  and Rachel Bomberger, Washington State University, as the at-large director.  Each will serve a two-year term.

Continuing to serve on the board are Clint Shocklee, Tri-Rinse as the container management representative; Annie Macmillan, Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food & Markets, to represent environment/public health; and Scott Birchfield, Syngenta Crop Protection, as the pesticide industry representative.  The Waste Management representative is vacant.  Serving as ex-officio members of the board are Jennifer Park, US EPA/Office of Pesticide Programs; and Bonnie McCarvel, TPSA Operations Manager.

The Pesticide Stewardship Alliance (TPSA), founded in 2000, is an organization of federal, state and local governmental agencies, educational and research institutions, public organizations, private corporations and individuals that are actively involved in different aspects of pesticide stewardship.  The goals of TPSA are to increase the effectiveness, efficiency and longevity of various pesticide stewardship efforts.  Check the TPSA web site for more information.  The 2022 Pesticide Stewardship Conference is scheduled for February 1-3, 2022 in Reno, Nevada.
